Too Many Options

Do ya'll realize the infinite number of combinations we have with this knitalong? I've been scouring through pattern books and patterns online all evening (much to my husband's dismay, I'm sure). The Briar Rose yarns are amazing - each one more stunning than the last - and I haven't seen even one pattern that wouldn't look amazing knit from Chris's creations.

I think I've made up my mind to go with the Collette...I'm just waiting to hear from Chris. What yarn are ya'll using?

Problems accepting your invitation?

NOTE: A few of our fellow knitters are experiencing issues with the version change of Blogger. The main issue seems to be the ability to accept invitations to join group blogs. I have posted for suggestions on Blogger's Help site and am awaiting reply. For now, it seems that you will need to use your Old Blogger sign-in to accept your invitation. If you are new to blogger, be sure and set up an account under Old Blogger. The word is that this should alleviate further problems.

Please be patient and we'll work through this together. I don't want to loose anyone who is interested in knitting along!

What to knit, what to knit?

Hello! Are we all thinking 'Whew, that present was finished just in time'?

I've begun to seriously consider what will be coming off of my needles for this knit-along. The only certain thing is that I will begin with this big, honking skein of the most fabulous yarn...

Blues and greens! The colors that dominate my yarn stash and the ones I definitely wear the most.

This is Legend, the fiber used for Tilly's Garden Shawl and it is so much nicer in person that I could even have imagined. I must admit, I am combing through my patterns because I want a whole sweater from this yarn! Especially after seeing the photo that Cindy posted!

Have any of you decided what you will make with which fiber? I need inspiration!

My New Sweater

I just finished this wool cabled sweater...for me! A little Christmas present to myself. It is so warm. Love it! I made it using Sonoma Twist wool yarn from Briar Rose Fibers. Chris dyes such beautiful yarns. I used two different hanks and switched between the yarns every two rows to get the lovely stripes. I can't wait to get started with this knit-along. I'm not sure what I will be knitting yet...I have such a long list of projects to choose from!

What a Way to Start the New Year

I have some obligation knitting to complete and it will make it so much easier to get through all of it knowing that I have this knit-along to look forward to. Just as soon as I can, I will procure my fiber for the KAL. I am so excited! Thank you Kim for putting together this wonderful project and thank you Kim for your beautiful, inspirational fibers!

So grateful!

I am ever so grateful to Kim for starting this knit a long.......You know how it is when you just totally connect with someone you haven't met before? That's how it was for me the day I met Kim! What a blessing it was to meet such a nice person, and have her ask about starting a knit a long with Briar Rose Fibers yarns!

So, welcome to all of you. I know this is a crazy, busy time, we hope you'll all join in the fun right after Christmas and the New Year. What better way to start the year than to knit something new and fun! After all that gift knitting - it may be time for you to knit something for yourself? I know I am going to start something for me!

Here's a picture of our first "yarn prize". It's three hanks of Sonoma and there's enough to do the Everyday Cardigan or the Sonoma Warm Cabled Sweater.....or the Rosebud Vest with lots leftover for the XOXO hat and Mittens.........
I am not sure how Kim is going to handle prizes.....we'll let her decide......

One last thing....you can knit anything you want with your Briar Rose Fibers yarn to join this KAL, it doesn't have to be from our patterns, in fact we LOVE to see what others have done with our fibers!

Happy Holidays to you and we'll see you soon!
Chris
